How are large and bulky items delivered?
Baths, vanities and shower screens travel by our own driver, a freight carrier or a palletised forklift truck depending on size and destination — and because deliveries are kerbside, ground floor, one driver, you need help ready to move anything heavy from where it is unloaded.
How bulky goods travel
| Service | When we use it |
|---|---|
| Our own driver | Melbourne metro runs, and fragile goods that should not be double-handled by a carrier. |
| Freight carrier | Regional and interstate orders, and anything palletised for a long journey. |
| Two-person delivery | On request, where one person cannot safely unload the item — arranged and paid before the run is booked, and subject to availability. |
| Forklift truck | Palletised bulky goods within 50 km of our Melbourne warehouse. No weight limit — pricing is volumetric, based on the pallet footprint. |
Where the goods are left
Bulky goods are delivered to the doorstep, driveway, garage or carport — whichever the vehicle can safely reach. From there, moving the goods is yours to arrange.
Arranging the unloading
- A freestanding bath, a stone-top vanity or a full-height glass panel needs at least two people — plan for help before the truck arrives, not after.
- If nobody strong enough will be on site, book the two-person service when you order — it cannot be added on the day.
- Tell us in advance about stairs, lifts, narrow streets or steep driveways — see what access the driver needs — so we send the right vehicle the first time.
Cost and timing
Charges are based on what the freight actually costs — how delivery charges work lists the two-person and forklift-zone pricing. Palletisation adds one to three business days before carrier transit, forklift runs make a single trip to a single address (split deliveries are not available), and end to end a bulky order is generally on site within about a business week. If the goods are for a booked installation, say so and we will schedule around it.
