Who should install my products?

We supply rather than install — installation is only included where it has been separately quoted and confirmed in writing — and each product needs the right trade: plumbing to a licensed plumber, electrical to a licensed electrician, glass to a glazier.

Does Melbourne Bathroom Shop install?

Installation is not included when you buy from us unless it has been separately quoted and confirmed in writing on your order. What we do as standard is supply the goods and everything your installer needs — spec sheets, set-out dimensions and installation instructions — before the day they are on site.

The right trade for each product

ProductWho should install it
Tapware, toilets, baths and basinsA licensed plumber.
LED mirrors and heated towel railsA licensed electrician.
Shower screens and mirrorsA glazier or shower screen installer.
Vanities and cabinetryA cabinetmaker, carpenter or builder.
Shower bases and waterproofingA qualified waterproofer.

Why licensed installation matters for warranty

Most manufacturer warranties on plumbing and electrical products require installation by a licensed person, and a claim is assessed against that. Manufacturers routinely ask for the installer’s invoice, their licence or registration number, and photos of the installation — see what evidence a claim needs.

Keep the installer’s invoice with your own. The pair of them is what proves both the purchase date and the licensed installation if a fault appears years later.

What about DIY?

Surface-mounted accessories — towel rails, robe hooks, toilet roll holders — are the products that suit confident DIY. Everything that touches water supply, drainage, waterproofing or wiring belongs with the trades above.

Talk to your installer before ordering

A short conversation before you order prevents the expensive kind after delivery: confirm the toilet set-out, the vanity plumbing positions and who is doing what on the day. Then inspect everything before installation so install day starts with checked goods.
